Architecture By Synthesis

Clients - the fun ones - come up with challenging - programs. This was: A place to enjoy my garden, work some times undisturbed by the phone, entertain guests, nap, provide a focus for the garden and give me something to look at from my office. Thought about it for a while and said, "It sounds like you're describing a tea house." Showed her some images and we started to design. Employed the philosophy of all material things left outside (structure, maintenance and other worldly concerns), nothing but relaxation and enjoyment inside. Very demanding and particular client. All our projects turned out great.
