Porch - Southern Style
She was from the south and he just wanted people to know where the front door was. She wanted a picturesque porch that spoke of entry and elegance. The porch also defined a very protected planting bed for some delicate plants that would not thrive in a more exposed location. As it were the tree had to be relocated because it did so well and a smaller tree took its place. On top of the corner posts of the railing I used opaque stained limestone pavers so they would need little maintenance and could handle having pots set on them for long periods of time without rotting.
