The clients didn't actually like or agree with all the fixtures I picked. But because they were such great clients they put them in. I'd have to say it is pretty successful. I employed a fair amount of psychology in the lighting design for both the owner's and patron's benefit. The lighting in the bakery (now switched to dining space mostly) is white/hot because it gets people in and out quickly for large-volume, fast turnover. The lighting in the main dining room is based on the concept of a campfire. Each table has one and the patrons gather around its light and intimate warmth - the center of the universe for that span of time. The colors are festive - amber and red - which are also action colors. People talk and laugh and eat and leave without hanging around very long, off to do other things. The waiting patrons are thankful for this as are the wait staff and owners. Fans add some air movement and dynamic motion to this room. The bar area is lit with green lights and has mauve walls. These are sumptuous relaxation and consumptive colors. You have a drink and some appetizers and another drink and maybe some more appetizers - relaxing with no hurry or worry - you are being taken care of. Didn't get to put in everything I wanted - hopefully I get to play with that in their next restaurant. Currently they are a victim of their own success - we should all have such problems. It's hard to find a time when they are not crowded but the line moves fairly quickly - no need to wonder why. Helped a little with some of the interior finishes (cork for walls and table tops).

An impeccable project by the owners - fantastic food by the chefs.
